Hello, I've got a laptop in which I recently had to refresh Windows 10. Flexisign pro 10 with crack free download. I use a program called Internet Download Manager to capture videos and news programs from the net. Since the refresh, IDM is unable to capture video from some sites, but not others which used to work before. Below is the error message I get from some sites now. I contacted IDM and after troubleshooting, their support has told me that this is a firewall issue.

It's not the software itself, because on other sites captures download without incident. My other machines which have windows 10 installed are all using IDM successfully. I've searched and searched, and I can't find any suggestions on what to do to fix this. I thought it might be Windows Defender. I switched it off, problem persists.

I changed my antivirus to Avira, tried to find a firewall setting that would fix this, no luck as yet. I'm posting this as a last resort before I have to go for the undesirable step of a complete wipe/reinstall of Windows 8.1 pro. Would love some ideas. As I mentioned, I'm running IDM on two other Windows 10 machines without this problem. I disabled Windows Defender temporarily, and the problem still persisted. As you know, Windows Defender turns itself back on after a short period, but the tests were done while it was off.

I'm using Avira since using Avira satisfies Windows 10 that an antivirus is in place and therefore Windows Defender isn't triggered. Despite this, even turning off the Avira Firewall completely, Windows is still blocking these downloads and I get the same error message as I posted above. I've just done it now, again, to confirm.

I have opened the Windows Firewall settings and ticked the boxes to allow IDM through the firewall. Here is a screen shot to demonstrate: So, Windows Firewall has been configured to allow this app, Avira and Windows Defender's firewalls are set to off on both public and private networks, but my downloads are still failing, throwing the abovementioned error. IDM works on these same sites on my other two machines, on which I haven't disabled Windows Defender, and I haven't even had to configure the firewall as posted above.

Also, IDM works on some sites on this problem machine, but not others. I have no idea what to do to further give permissions to IDM. I tried installing the program as administrator, no change. All my browsers and IDM are the latest versions. Is there a way to use my Windows 8 pro disk to repair the component of windows which deals with the firewall without doing a complete Windows refresh?

I refreshed a few weeks ago and it's just as much of a pain in the rear as a full re-install (have to re-install all of my software from scratch, etc). If you have any further troubleshooting ideas, please be specific, because what I have tried so far is all I can find on the issue. A serious issue with Windows 10 error messages is they don't give me an error code that we can search or report. Also, the firewall is blocking downloads of attachments from gmail. Since youtube is also using a google based server (from the error message I'm getting that we can't create a security connection to 'googlevideo', I have to assume there is something specific to google's certificates that Windows isn't liking. Note that everything google related is also marked as allowed in Windows Firewall settings. This isn't going to be an Avira specific problem since the problem existed prior to installation of Avira antivirus.
